‘Wicked’ as a Disney Movie?
I’m not exactly sure how I feel about this, how do you? They are thinking of making our beloved Wicked as an animated movie. Thoughts?
What if Wicked became a Disney animated film? Animator Heidi Jo Gilbert put together these storyboards, and they’re pretty fantastic. The doe-eyed Disney princess look, the quirky skyline, the “I want” anthem: in just two minutes, this clip manages to cover all the requisite Disney bases except for “excitable sidekick.” I know this movie might never happen, but it’s still nice to daydream, no?
Kristin Chenoweth to be Honored with Vanguard Award
Sorry for the lack in updates around here! I will add all the latest images to the gallery soon, but looks like we will have yet another event of Kristen in April. Check it out:
KRISTIN CHENOWETH is to be honoured by ‘The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation’ at a ceremony in April.
KRISTIN CHENOWETH, the American singer and actress, will be presented with the Vanguard Award at a GLAAD event in Los Angeles on April 10th 2011, reports the Associated Press. Chenoweth, best known for her Broadway performance as ‘Sally Brown’ in ‘You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown’, will be honoured for increasing the visibility and understanding of the gay community. The EMMY AWARD winning actress has long campaigned for gay rights and last year publically defended gay actors’ ability to play straight roles. It has also been reported that the Puerto Rican singer RICKY MARTIN will receive the Vito Russo Award at GLAAD’s 22nd annual Media Awards on 19th March 2011 in New York City. The award is presented to an openly gay ‘media professional’ who has made a ‘significant difference in promoting equal rights’. Last year, the 39-year-old ended years of speculation by coming out as gay on his official website. The GLAAD President JARRETT BARRIOS called Martin’s contribution to the gay community, “a game changer for many gay and transgender Latino children”.
Last year’s recipient of the Vanguard Award was the Hollywood actress DREW BARRYMORE while SEX AND THE CITY star CYNTHIA NIXON scooped the ‘Vito Russo’ honour.
