Kristin Chenoweth Hopes to Attract Promises Co-Star Sean Hayes to Her New TV Series

Looks like Kristin just might be starring in a new tv show?!? Check it out:

Having heard the news that Glee creator Ryan Murphy is at work devising a TV pilot for Promises, Promises star (and frequent Glee guest) Kristin Chenoweth, Broadway.com caught up with the Tony winner on the red carpet at opening night of The Scottsboro Boys to beg for details.

“There’s none that I can say or I’ll be killed,” the always cheerful actress said. Chenoweth did admit that she’d love to recruit Broadway co-star Sean Hayes, who’s no stranger to sitcom scene-stealing thanks to his long run in Will & Grace. “Boy I’m going to make him,” she said of Hayes. “I stayed on Broadway for him, so he owes me!” the actress joked, referencing her decision to extend in the musical so she and Hayes could close the show together as Fran Kubelik and Chuck Baxter.

As the popular revival heads toward a January 2 closing date, Chenoweth reflected on her experience in Promises, Promises. “It’s nice that a show that basically got ignored by the critics is loved by the people. It taught me a lesson that it’s all about what the people think. We love it, and we’re getting better and better each performance.”

As for her post-Promises plans, Chenoweth will again return to Glee this spring. While rumors swirled that the actress would perform a striptease, she said she doesn’t know what the episode holds in store for her character April Rhodes. “I don’t know and I don’t care. Ryan Murphy has me run the gamut, which I love so much. In my first episode, I did a country song and a Broadway song!”

One thing Chenoweth is sure about: her love for The Scottsboro Boys. After the show’s opening performance the actress took to her Twitter page to praise the latest work from her Steel Pier composers, John Kander and the late Fred Ebb. “Here are three words for you: The Scottsboro Boys. One of the best nights of theater in my life,” she said. “Tonight’s experience of The Scottsboro Boys makes me so proud to call myself a theater girl. At the curtain call I was sobbing. Not crying. Sobbing. I loved every morsel of this piece.”
